Jana Buettner

Jana Büttner (born in Austria, Salzburg 1997) is a German-Austrian-Czech sculptress who currently works between Italy, Austria and Germany.

In her work, she feels that each person has a different experience when looking at a work of art; some experience visual pleasure, others see themselves, creating an immediate connection with the work. She strives to encapsulate all of this in her work by working with the human figure and expressing herself through it in an artistic way.

When it comes to ideas, not only visible experience such as that found in nature, but also listening and reading are important sources for her. Among other things, this includes music and stories written or told by people she meets. These ideas remain in her mind at the beginning, some are put aside and others eventually grow into images and develop into something three-dimensional, something touchable. A development that fascinates her.

Her goal is to provoke emotions and encourage empathy in the viewer. The viewer should be involved in the work, so that he can identify with it.
