Dario Tironi seems to tell us through his work that art can also come from discards. Waste can return to new life: that's how old Barbies, broken calculators, plastic bottles, golf balls and cables become something else, taking on the features of life-size men and animals. Assembled together they manage to transmit much more than what they appear.
He often wanted to relate to the tradition of the great ancient and modern sculpture that constitutes, in fact, the essential reference point of the artist. Thus reproduces in his famous manner a statue of the Child with the Rooster by the Florentine sculptor Adriano Cecioni (1836-1886), who was also a famous painter and caricaturist. He manages, using mostly white materials to assimilate the original marble, to depict a boy who, after having tied his little car to the rooster's leg, tries to pick up the rooster in his arms. Little child becomes terribly scared when the rooster opens its wings in an attempt to fly away from the boy. The expression is that of a terrified and screaming boy holding a frightened rooster that tries to escape.
