Interesting portrait of roman bloody and cruel emperor Nero.
Nero was the fifth and last emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. He was a very controversial prince in his time; he had some undeniable merits, especially in the first part of his empire, when he ruled with his mother Agrippina and with the help of Seneca, a Stoic philosopher, and Afranio Burro, prefect of the praetorium, but was also responsible for crimes and despotic attitudes. The image of a tyrant who was handed down was partially revised by the majority of modern historians, who believe that he was neither crazy - as some sources described him - nor particularly cruel at the time, but that his authoritarian behavior was similar to those of other emperors who are not equally judged
