Lost wax bronze casting. The young and proud David was represented by Verrocchio in 1472 and it was committed by Lorenzo and Giuliano de' Medici. The young heroe is wearing as a boy at the Medici Court and his shape looks more late Gothic ( closer to the style of Lorenzo Ghiberti) than Renaissance style. He is no more naked but fully decorated with brilliant gildings on the hair and part of the dress. A recent restoration discovered some gilded traces and a different positon of the head of the Giant that was standing in origin on a side. The original size replica by Frilli Gallery is fully gilded in the details as the original bronze appeared to the pubblic of the Medici Court.
